As I am new to Galaxy (specifically, usegalaxy.org), I apologize if the suggestion in this post is a non-issue - i.e. a similar suggestion has been proposed or Galaxy has already addressed issues like this.

I was wondering if it is possible to put under one subfolder all the tools from GATK best practice workflow so that users can just "plug and play" the GATK best practice in Galaxy for NGS variant calling.

Just a thought. Thank you.

Hello Brenden,

Many of the tools used in any Workflow have multiple uses and the best way we have come up with to organize these for specific analysis is into either a Workflow or a Page. The former will include the tools and annotation, the second can include any Galaxy object (linked) including Workflows, Histories, Datasets, etc. plus additional text for how-to along with publication links.

The tool panel can be configured on a local or cloud Galaxy any way that you would wish. The various public Galaxy instance organize tools in different ways. So you can always customize to suit your needs on your own server.

We appreciate your suggestion and let's move it to Q&A. Others can comment as well.

Thanks, Jen, Galaxy team
