Hi

I am wondering if  anyone has a current cost analysis (on a per hour usage basis and per GB of data) for cloud computing using CloudMan?

Cheers

This is completely dependent on what options you choose when starting up your cluster.  You can review instance costs (per hour) here:

http://aws.amazon.com/ec2/pricing/

Other than those flat per-hour costs for instances (which is only billed while your cluster is 'on'), the only significant cost would be the primary data volume (which is charged all the time, regardless of whether the cluster is on or not) at $0.05 per GB-month of provisioned storage and the index volume (700GB, but this is *only* being charged while your cluster is 'on') at the same $.05/GB-month.

There are very minor (a few cents at most per month) charges for S3 storage.

Thank you Dannon for the info. Do you have any idea how much would it cost in total roughly to do a whole analysis (say, SNP calling using SAMtools on a 1.5 TB sequence dataset)?

I do not, but one thing to keep in mind is that the maximum space available on a Cloudman instance is 1TB, due to the EBS size limit imposed by Amazon.
