Getting Started
Galaxy Biostar is a community-driven platform for asking specific questions about Galaxy.
Details about usegalaxy.org and Galaxy Biostar integration are available at Galaxy Biostar Wiki.
What now?
If you ever used the galaxy-user@bx.psu.edu mailing list we created an account for you here with the same email address. You can use the forgotten password function to receive a password for it (https://biostar.usegalaxy.org/accounts/password/reset/).
You can also register a new account, we suggest to use the same email as you use for your usegalaxy.org account as the login process will be transparent for you if you access Biostar from usegalaxy.org.
I use a different email address on usegalaxy.org (Main) and galaxy-user@bx.psu.edu but want to synch with my prior posts. How?
Your usegalaxy.org Galaxy account email address can be edited at any time under "User -> Preferences". Be sure it is valid and current, as this change will trigger an account confirmation email. Email addresses are not viable to other accounts on Main or Galaxy Biostar, so privacy is maintained.
May I merge email accounts?
Each email account is the unique identifier for the Galaxy Biostar account and cannot be merged. If this changes, we'll let you know.
Will changing my password in Galaxy Biostar break the connection to my http://usegalaxy.org account?
Go ahead and update your account password to be anything you would like it to be. Secure login to the http://usegalaxy.org instance is an alternative login path to Galaxy Biostar. The link between the two is for convinience and the two accounts do not share passwords.
Is it OK to unsubscribe from the galaxy-user.bx.psu.edu mailing list?
If you are not interested in following the final week's exchanges on that list, then this is fine to do now. But this is optional. All users will be unsubscribed when the list is archived. The user mailing list subscription has no relationship to your Biostar account (beyond the intial imports, completed now) . https://wiki.galaxyproject.org/MailingLists#Subscribing_and_Unsubscribing
