I am trying to join two datasets. Each of the datasets has a row that explains column entries. However, when the two datasets are joined this row gets deleted. This is the first time I am experiencing this. I am not sure how I can solve this problem.

Thanks,

Henrik

Hello,

The headers did not match between the two inputs for the columns joined on.

To fix the problem, use the tool Replace Text in entire line (Galaxy Version 1.0.0) on dataset 505 with these options:

  • Find pattern: GO\-ID
  • Replace with: GO

Note: The \ is probably not needed in the "Find Pattern" term, but I usually backslash most non-alpha numeric characters that I want to be read as plain text, just to avoid regular expression issues that can come up with certain tools.

The headers will now be a match between the adjusted dataset and dataset 516. The resulting join includes the headers. The fix is now in your history for reference. You can purge/permanently delete any datasets not needed (the original dataset 505, or any others I created, if you want to do try this yourself).

Hope this helps! Jen, Galaxy team
