Question: failure to set metadata

I was running a tophat alignment as part of a workflow and the flow failed because of failure to set metadata - the autodetect fixed the issue instantly. Why did this happedn and how do I stop it from happening again?

Normally it gives some error message about why this failed. Is this on usegalaxy.org or another galaxy server?
