Hey,

So I've installed a local galaxy server in order to helpout processing some large data we have. I imported the data using This guide and the data imported correctly. I can see the information when I view the data in my history.

However, I can't seem to select the data using any tools. I've installed a trimmomatic wrapper and I cannot select the forward/reverse reads. The dropdown menu is empty.

I've edited the file's permissions to allow my users access to the files. I uploaded a test file using the normal http uploader and those files as well I cannot access. I've tired fastq, fasta, and bam/sam files.

Is there a setting somewhere I need to edit in order to allow for processing of these files?

Hi,

uploaded fastq files will be recognised as 'fastq' format. trimmomatic and related tools only takes inputs in 'fastqsanger' format. You can easily change the filetype of your dataset.

Read more about managing datsets in Galaxy here:

And about the fastq format here:

Ciao,

Bjoern
