Is anyone else having issues using the public galaxy server? I've been creating jobs and none of them are running, they are coming up with the exclamation point next to them. I've left it running like that overnight, for earlier in the morning yesterday and still no change unfortunately.

Any ideas? Best wishes, Val

I'm having the same problem. Jobs stopped running on Saturday for me.

It's up and running on my end, albeit very slowly. Apparently caused by the cores getting backed up.

Details here : Delay in running jobs

We've had a few hiccups lately with jobs stalling - these are being addressed, and your jobs should be running/completed now. It may take a bit longer to work through the bigger multicore tools. If they aren't moving for you, please let us know.

Hello,

Yes, the problems were cluster related. These caused delays but not errors. If you both had this delay (not failure) issue, and/or others reading, please allow the jobs to run to completion (avoid delete/restart).

Thanks very much for your patience! This was a priority for our team and we believe it is now addressed.

Take care, Jen, Galaxy team

Thanks! It does seem to be working now. The jobs that were already running when the delay started actually did fail. Once it started working again I was able to rerun those jobs without problem.

Still an issue for me, been waiting for a large wig file to convert to BigWig. Uploaded file is still grayed out awaiting examination. This was about 3 hours ago.

It may take a while for the backlog of queued jobs to fully process. Please allow the jobs to run. Thanks, Jen, Galaxy team

Hi Galaxy team,

Just a heads up, it seems that something is going wrong again. I have 2 jobs waiting to run for at least 4hours now and it's stuck as grey. One of the jobs flicked its symbol from an exclamation point to a clock about 3 hours ago but still grey.

Best wishes, Val

Multi-core jobs (meaning larger ones) still queue then execute. Depending on how busy the server/cluster is, and how many other jobs are queued of this type from your account, a normal delay time can be up to 24 hrs and sometimes a bit longer. See "Grey - waiting to run" jobs in this wiki section: https://wiki.galaxyproject.org/Support#Dataset_status_and_how_jobs_execute

I double checked with our administrator Nate and other issues with jobs are known at this time.

Hopefully this helps! Jen, Galaxy team
