Hi :)

Please try installing the more recent version of the mothur tools (owner iuc) instead: https://toolshed.g2.bx.psu.edu/view/iuc/suite_mothur/a5ee03dfb216

Hi, This question is regarding Trim with an oligos file option. https://www.mothur.org/wiki/Oligos_File How to supply this file ?

Use the Make.contigs tool form option "Trim with an oligos file?" set to "yes" and select the dataset from the working history.

Hi Jennifer, Thanks for your reply.....but my question was more on the side of the file and its format which has to be uploaded in the history. https://www.mothur.org/wiki/Oligos_File does not mention it explicitly....I even tried compiling mothur from its source code yet ....still struggling. If you can , kindly help.

The file is just plain text and should be formatted as described in the link you reference. Any text editor could be used. The spaces between the data columns should all be a single tab. Make sure there are no extra blank lines at the top, internally, or at the end of the file.
