Hi Galaxy developers,

We have recently deployed the Galaxy version 17.09 on our local server. We found the "view data" functions doesn't work for newly uploaded fasta files. Upload by choosing a local file works fine. Just upload by pasting data shows error. It shows the error message below. The button/function works well for the tabular format. And if I change the uploaded fasta file to tabular format, it works fine to display the content. If I change to txt format, it won't work either. Can anyone help? Thanks!

The requested URL /galaxy/datasets/a5453f3e6cc79810/display/ was not found on this server.

Also paste the log for the success view

Hello, Jennifer,

Thanks for the prompt response. We have updated the local Galaxy to the lasted version, and the issue still comes up. We found that it's the local Apache server settings need to be modified. We added the line below and the problem is fixed. In case future users meet this issue.

LoadModule xsendfile_module modules/mod_xsendfile.so

Hello,

I am not able to reproduce this in a local Galaxy 17.09 or at https://usegalaxy.org.

Have to checked to make sure you are current with the patches since the initial 17.09 release? If not, try updating and see if that fixes the display issue.

Should the problem continue, let us know and we can troubleshoot from there.

Thanks! Jen, Galaxy team
