Question: How to interpret FastQC reports

I've been told it's a good idea to run FastQC to verify the data quality of your FastQ files. Hover, I can't find a good explanation of what's checked, why, and what conclusion I should reach should the score be low.
For example, this is the summary I get from one of my FastQ files:
