Hello,

I submitted a Tophat job recently and received the following error:

An error occurred setting the metadata for this dataset Set it manually or retry auto-detection

The files looked o.k. though. I started another Tophat job yesterday but it did not complete yet. I will keep trying. Should I do a local installation of Galaxy?

Best wishes,

Henrik

Hello,

The solution is to use the auto-detect function. From the link in the yellow warning box or click on the pencil icon and use the button on the Edit Attributes form.

Tophat jobs will end with that metadata message in certain cases. The job does not need to be re-run. If it is rerun, there is a chance of it ending up needing the metadata autodetected again anyway.

There were some delays yesterday with the cluster that improved later in the day then again earlier today. Allow queued jobs to stay queued until they execute and complete. https://wiki.galaxyproject.org/Support#Grey

If you want to try a local, that is your choice :) http://getgalaxy.org

Thanks, Jen, Galaxy team
