We have two users in our lab registered in the Main galaxy server. My user works just fine, while another isn't able to run any jobs, not even uploading a small (less than 1 kb) FASTQ file. The jobs have been stuck for days at "waiting to run". I've created a test history for each of the users to demonstrate the issue, all files were updated from the same computer (a Mac) and the same browser (Chrome):

Thank you!

Hello,

The job was queued, but the account expired before the job could be executed.

The user adizisman needs to activate their account. An email was sent to the registered email address. Check spam and trash if needed.

Thanks, Jen, Galaxy team

Thank you, everything works now! As a suggestion, it may be better to warn users when this happens - when went through that user's settings it appeared that everything was OK.

This is a good idea. When a job is on hold due to an account requiring activation, notification in the user interface would be helpful. I opened a ticket for the suggestion: https://github.com/galaxyproject/galaxy/issues/2134

Best, Jen

The feature to show user that they are inactive is in place but was broken during past few months until we fixed it in https://github.com/galaxyproject/galaxy/pull/2139

It should arrive in the release branch soon. Sorry for the trouble.
