Hi there,

We've recently set up a local galaxy instance. Ideally I would have liked to have mirrored the tool set exactly as in usegalaxy.org but I couldn't find a simple way to do that. So instead i've been installing tools one by one through the toolshed, a task. Now I realise they need organising into panels. Is there an easier way to do that other than getting stuck into the .xml files and moving things around? Any helpful links would be very much appreciated. That said, if anyone knows a way to mirror the tool set at usegalaxy.org I'd love to know that too.

Regards,

Nick

So we followed the details at that link and have, as far as I can see, successfully cloned the public galaxy instance (yay). Only some of the tools sorted into the panels though, is there a relevant .xml file I can obtain from somewhere and replace on our system that will organise tools into panels the same as public instance?

Hi Jennifer, after our system admin spending several days following this instructions, it has not achieved the desired clone/mirror of main. There are tools that are stuck at the 'clone' and 'new' installation status in Monitor installing tool shed repositories. Additionally, while tools are working, we're missing the reference genomes. I'm really hoping for a one-stop-shop simple answer to mirror main as our local instance, and I don't think this is it. Do you have any advice or suggestions?
