Question: administrator profile in local galaxy not working

I have installed galaxy locally in my workstation. Basic instalattion seems to work properly, but I would like to install more stuff. I'm trying to get administrator privileges, but I does not work.

I found the file "config/galaxy.ini.sample", add my email, and save it. But, I do not see yet the "Admin" menu item in the top Galaxy menu bar.

Of course, After modifying "config/galaxy.ini.sample", I relaunched galaxy, but nothing change.

Any help?

You fiorst need to make a copy of "galaxy.ini.sample" called "galaxy.ini". And then you can modify "galaxy.ini" by adding your email address and restart Galaxy. Also make sure, you use the correct email address, i. e the one you used to generate your Galaxy account.

just double-checking: have you removed the '#' in front of 'admin_users' ?

well, if the '#' is present, the line is still commented-out.

remove it and restart the server.
